The invention relates to a handle for fastening to a container made of glass or porcelain, in particular a coffee-pot of an electric coffee machine, having a plastic clamping band which surrounds the container and an actual handle in which a clamping screw engaging on the clamping band is arranged. In this arrangement, the object to be solved is that of providing a handle of this type which is user-friendly and reliable and in particular allows compensation of large tolerances, while being inexpensive to manufacture. This object is achieved according to the invention by the fact that the clamping band (10; 610) has, formed on its end portions, threaded segments (26; 626) or threaded sectors which both cooperate with a clamping screw (22; 522; 622). <IMAGE>
