PURPOSE:To prevent color mixing by arranging plural latent image forming means in the direction of rotation of an image forming medium, plural developing means corresponding to said means, and recharging means of scorotrons corresponding to said developing means except the last step of the developing means. CONSTITUTION:A corona wire 12 is installed in a metallic grounded case 14. Plural grid wires 13 are provided in its opening and charged to a voltage similar to the desired potential of a photosensitive body 1 to be charged. Corona discharge is caused when the voltage (Hv) of the corona wires 12 to be charged rises to about 4kV, and the body 1 becomes chargeable, and when 7-9kV, corona discharge becomes active, resulting in generating a large amt. of corona ions, and causing luminescence around the corona wires 12. When rechargers applying such discharging phenomenon are used for the recharging step of a 2-color printer, the luminescence phenomenon occurring around the wires 12 charges the body 1 up to a prescribed potential, while suppressing rise of potential on the background after the first development. As a result, uniform recharging can be executed only by setting voltage to be applied for corona discharge to somewhat high degree, and color mixing can be prevented. |
