PURPOSE:To provide a min. required capacity of a crucible by setting the capacity of the crucible in such a way that the average residence time of a molten metal attains 5-10min, and setting the ratio between the diameter and depth of the crucible in such a way that the surface build-up height of the molten metal in the crucible attains 8-16cm when the heating temp. of the molten metal in said residence time is 50-100 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:The capacity of a crucible is so set that the average residence time of the molten metal determined by the ratio between the capacity of the molten metal that can be put therein and the capacity of the crucible attains 5-10min. The ratio between the diameter and depth of the crucible is so set that the surface build-up height of the molten metal in the crucible attains 8- 16cm when the electric power at which the heating temp. of the molten metal in said residence time attains 50-100 deg.C is supplied to an induction coil. The top end position of the induction coil is made flush with the average height at the top surface of the molten metal in the crucible or below.
