A tenoning/mortising and milling machine for machining the ends of frame elements of window frames, window leaves, door frames or the like having a saw, with which the frame elements are first cut to the correct length, and having cutters with which the corresponding mortises and tenons can be made on the end faces of the frame elements, has a carriage with clamping positions for the workpieces and which can be displaced towards the saws and cutters, transversely to the longitudinal extent of the workpieces. An adjustable length stop for the frame elements is provided on this carriage so that said elements can be cut to the dimension required in each case and can be provided at a corresponding spacing with mortises and tenons. In this arrangement, provision is made for the insertion opening for the workpieces in their clamping device to open counter to the feed of the workpiece, so that the workpiece can thus be inserted in the feed direction without obstruction before then being secured in place. The cutter or cutters are driven synchronously with the feed so that there is no possibility of the workpiece being thrown out of its insertion position if the clamping device is loosened or fails. The length stop for the workpiece can be moved from the insertion position by a drive means, so that even the adjusting work can be carried out rapidly and accurately.
