A pressing-out device is devised for separating mixtures of liquids and solids, by means of which a very high pressing-out pressure can be built up and by means of which the pressed-out liquid can be discharged at the main point where it is released, without liquid outlet apertures causing a noticeable drop of pressure in this region. Insertion of axial outlet bores, which are open towards the screw axis, in pins which are connected to liquid outlet pipes, permit the liquid to be discharged. Arrangement of a rebound, which causes the stationary pinpoints to find a running surface, is achieved in that the proportions of solid, which are small anyway, in the pressed-free liquid which reach the pin bores are reduced even further, so that the pressed-free liquid can be diverted without difficulty into clarification plants.
