TREATMENT OF COOLANT FOR COLD ROLLING OF STEEL

PURPOSE:To remove iron impurities while restricting the outflow of oil functioning as an effetive component, and to use the oil again by circulation by providing a coolant used already in cold rolling of steel material at a high flow speed to an electromagnetic filter to treat it. CONSTITUTION:A coolant 2 used already in a cold rolling plant 1 for steel is once stored in a tank 3. A part of the coolant 2 is returned by a pump 8 from the tank 3 to the plant 1 through a valve 5, but the residual coolant 2 is sent to an electromagnetic filter 7 through a valve 6. The residual coolant 2 is magnetically separated and treated by the filter 7 to remove >=90% iron impurities of the coolant 2. The coolant 2 after said treatment is sent to the plant 1 through a valve 8 for using it by circulation.
