PURPOSE:To provide the titled apparatus capable of preventing recording inferiority caused by the variation of the liquid pressure in a recording head, constituted so as to detect the liquid pressure by detecting the displacement amount of the flexible membrane provided to a part of an ink tank or ink cartridge. CONSTITUTION:A means for detecting the liquid pressure of the ink in a recording head 10 is provided to a part of an ink cartridge 20. A flexible membrane 27 is adhered to the surface of the opening part provided to an ink chamber 23 in a liquid-tight state and a displacement amount detector 28 is provided thereabove to measure the displacement amount due to the deformation of the flexible membrane 27. On the basis of the detection signal of this displacement amount, the liquid pressure detecting control of the ink in the recording head and the detection of the ink residual amount therein are performed with high accuracy and reliability. |
