PURPOSE:To provide a heat sensitive recording material reduced in the fading or discoloration of a recorded image and high in thermal response, obtained by using p-hydroxybenzoic ester as a developer while containing zinc nitrate (nitrite) in a heat sensitive color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:In a heat sensitive recording material obtained by providing a heat sensitive color forming layer based on a leuco dye (e.g., 3-cyclohexylamino- 6-methyl-7-anilinofluorane) and a developer on a support, p-hydroxybenzoic ester (e.g., benzyl p-hydroxybenzoic acid) is used as said developer and zinc nitrate (nitrite) is contained in said heat sensitive color forming layer in an amount of pref. 0.5-3 times by wt. of the leuco dye. EFFECT: Sensitivity is made high and the fingerprint resistance of a recorded image is enhanced. |
