PURPOSE:To display a stereoscopic picture with high reliability without driving a CRT or an image forming optical system with simple constitution by changing an equivalent optical length between the CRT and the image forming optical system while fixing the relative position between the CRT and the image forming optical system. CONSTITUTION:Wedges 6, 7 being wedge type optical media made of a light transmitting substance such as glass, acrylic resin or the like are arranged in an optical path consisting of the CRT1 and a convex lens 4 being the image forming optical system, and the wedge 6 is driven by a linear motor 8 in the direction virtical to the optical axis of the convex lens 4. Since the thickness of the wedges 6 and 7 in the optical path is changed sequentially by driving the wedge 6, the position of image forming by the convex lens 4 of the picture displayed by the CRT1 is changed sequentially and a stereoscopic picture 3 is observed. As a two-dimensional picture display device, a panel type, laser ray and other systems utilizing gas discharge, liquid crystal, light emitting diode or electroluminescence(EL) in addition to the CRT are utilized. |
