PURPOSE:To miniaturize a piezoelectric oscillator using an X plate of LiTaO3 by contriving the cutting way of the material as well as the form of an electrode. CONSTITUTION:An oscillator plate using an X plate 10 of LiTaO3 is formed into a rectangle. The longer side of the plate 10 is set in the -50 deg.+ or -4 deg. direction to an axis Y, and 1/2<=L2/L1<=1 is satisfied between the long and short sides L1 and L2, respectively. At the same time, a rectangular electrode 12 is attached to both sides of the plate 10, respectively. The longer side of the electrode 12 and a lead-out electrode 14 are set on the longer side of the plate 10. Then 1/2<=l2/ l1<=1 is satisfied between the long and short sides l1 and l2 of the electrode 12, respectively. In such a way, miniaturization is possible for a piezoelectric oscillator using the plate 10. |
