PURPOSE:To achieve valve timing optimal to each operational condition, by varying lift of lash adjuster for supporting one end of locker arm and setting load of valve spring in accordance to operating condition. CONSTITUTION:One end of locker arm 2 to be driven by a cam 7 is supported by a lash adjuster 4 while lift of adjuster 4 is made variable through oil pressure which will vary in accordance to engine rotation to control valve timing. While one end of valve spring 10 is supported by a hydraulic spring load adjuster 13 and when the lift of adjuster 4 is small under low speed, setting load of valve spring 10 is increased to prevent jamp of valve. |
