They are intrinsically rigid, preferably through the use of materials which are initially deformable, but which are subsequently cured, such as curable synthetic resins. A textured surface gives the elements the appearance of other, conventional articles without a heat-exchanger element, for example the appearance of flat or corrugated roofing sheets.
