The wrapping machine is for roughly rectangular items such as tablets of soap, having a station to which a set of wrapping-paper sections and the item are fed. A drum indexing for half a revolution at a time is mounted on the opposite side to the item of the starting position to which the paper sections are fed, and a thruster delivers an item into it each time it stops, this at the same time discharging a preceding item and section of paper from the other side. A first folding mechanism inside the drum places the paper part-way round the item and marks the protruding tongues to be folded against its ends. A conveyor transports the emerging items away from the drum and through a final folding mechanism forming the tongues and folding them against its ends. |
