INFRARED RAY DETECTOR

PURPOSE:To elevate the response speed by having infrared ray intermittently entering elastic surface wave elements of a plurality of feedback type oscillators alternately. CONSTITUTION:Interdigital electrode 23 is provided on the surfaces of piezo- electric substrates 21 and 22 and connected to amplifiers 24 and 25 to form an infrared ray detectors 30 and 31. Shutters 26 and 27 are provided in front of the substrates 21 and 22 and open or close alternately for the entray of the infrared rays as indicated by the arrow. The oscillation frequencies of the detectors 30 and 31 vary with the opening or the closing of the shutters 26 and 27. The temperature of an object can be obtained by determining the difference between the frequency during the closing the shutters and the frequency during the opening thereof.
