摘要 PURPOSE:To keep the cooling performance when high cooling load is imposed, to improve the feeling when the load is low, to save the power and to improve the durability, by stopping some of cylinders of a multicylinder compressor so as to control the amount of a refrigerant to be discharged. CONSTITUTION:When high cooling load is imposed, generally a fan is set on the high speed side. By this setting, a control circuit 26 rotates the fan at a high speed and energizes a solenoid 33 to open an on-off valve 23, so that the refrigerant flows into compressing chambers 11, 12 to increase the intake of the refrigerant and is sent to a condensor via a discharge passage 21. On the other hand, when low cooling load is imposed, the fan is set at the intermediate speed or low speed, and a control circuit 26 deenergizes the solenoid 33 to close the on-off valve 23 so that the refrigerant is discharged only from the second compressing chamber 12 thereby decreasing the amount of the circulating refrigerant. Thus, frequent on-off operation is obviated when the load is low so that the feeling can be improved, the power can be saved, the durability can be improved, and cooling performance can be retained when high cooling load is imposed.
