AUTOMATIC DISTANCE MEASURING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To enable simple and highly accurate measurement of distance by automatically measuring the winding of a steel tape with a specified tension. CONSTITUTION:Two measuring points are determined at the positions facing the subsoil of a tunnel to be measured and a fitting 42 is mounted. A handle 5 is rotated to apply a tension to a steel tape 4 continuously. A microcomputer 9 is set to perform a measurement when a certain tension works on a load cell 42. As the handle continues to turn, a given tension works on the load cell 42 between specified measuring points and the microcomputer 9 outputs a reading stop signal to a counter 1 and an encoder 21 to measure distance.
