PURPOSE:To obtain a silver image high in each of max. density, contrast, and sharpness in an image receiving layer and improved in image reproduction characteristics by processing development for silver complex diffusion transfer in the presence of a specified six-membered thione compd. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material having a silver halide emulsion layer is brought into intimate contact with an image receiving material, and said former material is exposed and undeveloped silver halide is diffusion transferred to the image receiving material. Then, it is developed in a diffusion transfer developing soln. of silver complex salt having 10-14pH contg. 10mg-5g per liter compd. having a six-membered ring thione group represented by the formula shown in the figure in which R is 1-3C org. group; X is S or N-R1 or O; -R1 is as R; and Z is 3C needed to form a six-membered ring optionally substd. by R or a group contg. no C. After the development, the photosensitive material is stripped from the image receiving material. As a result, image reproduction characteristics is remarkably improved, diffusion transfer developing speed is accelerated, temp. dependence of the developing soln. is lowered, and rapid diffusion transfer development is attained. |
