PURPOSE:To obtain the titled photographic element capable of giving a transferred image superior in hue and resolution by forming photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers and a layer of a specified dye releasing compd. on a support. CONSTITUTION:Photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers and a layer of a dye releasing redox compd. are formed on a support, and said compd. has general formula I in which Q is OH, formula II or III, or the like; R5 is optionally substd. alkyl or aralkyl or the like; G is OH, or acyloxy of formula IV or V; E is optionally substd. alkyl or phenyl; R1-R4 are each H or optionally substd. alkyl or aryl, or the like; (m), (q) are each 0 or 1; (j) is sulfo or carbonyl; Z is H or optionally substd. alkyl; X is a divalent group of formula VI; A1, A2 are each alkylene or aralkylene, or the like; L is a divalent group, such as oxy or carbonyl; and (p), (n) are each 0 or 1; a group of formula VII is a redox center causing self-cleavage and releasing a diffusible dye; Y is a nonmetallic atomic group needed to complete a hydrocarbon ring, etc. |
