摘要 Cell has spaced inlet and outlet and contains electrodes with flat contact faces. Electrodes are regularly spaced throughout the interior of the cell. Each pair of adjacent electrodes is connected to different phases of a power source. - Pref. an electrode is fixed to each end wall of the cell, extending across the full width of the interior of the wall. Other electrodes extend towards each other from and at right angles to opposed side walls of the cell. These second electrodes are longitudinally spaced at a pitch equal to 0.2-0.4 of the width of an end wall electrode. The clearance between adjacent ends of opposed, lateral electrodes is also equal to 0.2-0.4 of the width of an end wall electrode. - Used e.g. to increase yield of juice from fruit pulp etc.. Disposition of electrodes ensures a uniform intensity of electric current on the prod-contacting faces. This avoids local overheating and consequent prod. damage.
