<p>PURPOSE:To securely and accurately detect a touch position by providing light beams which cross each other at right angles on a display screen and plural light beams which cross them slantingly. CONSTITUTION:A touch position detecting device consists of light emitting elements 1-16, photodetecting elements 17-32, the display screen 202, a driving circuit 200, and a photodetection processing circuit 201. In this case, the light emitting elements 9-16 and photodetecting elements 25-32 are provided in addition to the light emitting elements 1-8 and photodetecting elements 17-24 of the display screen 202 and light beams 41-48 are emitted crossing light beams 33-40 from the light emitting elements 9-16 at a specific angle (e.g. 45 deg.). Then, even if two touch points are detected with the light beams 33-40 which cross one another at right angles, the direction of inclination to the display screen 202 is decided with the light beams 41-48 which slant to those light beams 33-40 to detect a correct touch position.</p> |
