PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in picture quality due to the passing of a gripper bar by improving the uniformity of the surface potential of a dielectric belt under on/off control over a destaticizing corotron. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic recording device has a form presence/absence detection sensor 30 which detects a form 7 gripped by the gripper bar 8 entering a transfer part, and the signal of the sensor 30 is processed by a control part 20. The control part 20 receives this signal powers off the discharger corotron 10 through a driving circuit 40 for a specific time to stop electrifying the charger belt 2 positively. Consequently, black stripes appearing at the head end of a form conventionally are not formed and the picture quality is improved. |
