PURPOSE:To improve the productivity in the manufacture of a commutator by forming a plurality of axial grooves on the outer peripheral surface of a ceramic cylinder, inserting a conductive cylinder into the outer periphery and then forming axial split groove, thereby insulating and separating commutator segments. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic cylinder 4, in which a plurality of axial grooves are formed on the outer peripheral surface, is formed. Then, a conductive cylinder 6 to become a commutator segment member is engaged with the outer periphral surface of the cylinder 4, and rigidly bonded by heating and pressing. Then, the part (a) of the cylinder 6 corresponding to the outer peripheral grooves of the cylinder 4 is axially formed with grooves, thereby insulating and separating commutator segments. |
