PURPOSE:To enable automatic and quick retrieval of a desired video and simplification of operation by writing the signal of the prescribed frequency retrievable in the stage of high-speed reproduction in superposition on a video signal, and recording preliminarily said signal on a magnetic tape in a recording mode. CONSTITUTION:The 2nd heads 18, 19 are provided in addition to the 1st heads 12, 13 used for recording or reproducing of a video signal and are mounted on a head drum 11 in such a way that the head 18 has the azimuth different from the azimuth of the 1st head 12 for a track A. A driving circuit 25 for running a tape derives the signal (a) for recording and commanding the signal for retrieval for a specified time and applies said signal to a driving circuit 31. The circuit 31 applies the signal of 1.5MHz frequency for the specified time only via a switch 223 and a transformer 233 to the 2nd head 18 in response with the signal (a) and applies the same to the 2nd head 19 via a switch 224 and a transformer 234. The signal for retrieval (the signal having the specified frequency) is therefore recorded on a magnetic tape by the 2nd heads 18, 19. |
