PURPOSE:To enable the operation of a pen-shaped thermal printing device just like a pen by mounting a print timing detection means and a thermal head at the tip of a pen-holder with a thermal print ribbon cassette mounted detachably. CONSTITUTION:When using a thermal printing device, a pen-holder 1 is held as it is an ordinary pen and a thermal print ribbon 13 and both rollers 9 and 10 are moved horizontally over a paper 17 to the right or left under being lightly pressed thereon 17. With the rotation of a print timing detection roller 9, a print timing pulse signal is inputted into an external controller corresponding to the rotational speed thereof and synchronizing this signal, a required code signal is outputted from the controller into a thermal head 4. As the pen-holder 1 is moved, a specific character is thermally transferred onto the paper 17 at a fixed interval regardless of the speed of the pen-holder 1. |
