PURPOSE:To stabilize management of a plant for treating fish bodies and their residuary substances, and to obtain effect on reduction in energy and effect on prevention of pollution, by teating defatted fish juice by methane fermentation method in a process for treating fish bodies and their residuary substances. CONSTITUTION:Fish bodies and their residuary substances are boiled or steamed, pressed, separated into a solid material and squeezed juice, the solid material is dried and powdered to give fish meal, and the squeezed juice is centrifuged to separate and to recover a fish oil. In the operation, the recovered defatted fish juice 25 is stored in the tank 62, and fed to the methane fermentation tank 65. By methane fermentation treatment, organic substances contained in it are recovered as the methane gas 72 and a component of bad smell is also decomposed. Namely, management of a plant for treating the fish bodies and their residuary substances, which is confronted with difficulties caused by rise in cost of fuel and reduction in price of product, is stabilized, it shows excellent effects on social demands with respect to environmental hygiene and on reduction in source of pollution occurrence, and exhibits extremely improved effects in terms of reduction in energy. |
