PURPOSE:To simplify and secure the assembly work of a cylindrical spiral battery and prevent any short circuits by integrating insulating plates, provided at the ends of a plate group for the battery, with a core body around which belt like positive and negative electrodes are rolled with a separator interposed between the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A plate group 12 is made by rolling a belt-like positive electrode 16 and a belt-like negative electrode 17 which is made of lithium metal around a core body 15 with a separator 18 interposed between the electrodes 16 and 17. Disk-like insulating plates 19 and 20 are integrated with the core body 15, for example, by injection molding carried out with polypropylene. As a result, the insulating plates 19 and 20 work as guides in rolling the positive and the negative electrodes 16 and 17 and the separator 18 around the core body 15. In addition, since the insulating plates 19 and 20 and the core body 15 are unified, there is no possibility that the electrode 16 or 17 or the separator 18 is separated, falls down or shifts in inserting the plate group 12 into a battery case 11. |
