<p>PURPOSE:To detect the critical degree of clogging at which regeneration of a fine-particle trapping means is required with high accuracy, by correcting the operation timing of a trap regenerating means detected from the pressure of exhaust gas on the upstream side of the trapping means on the basis of the temperature of an exhaust system. CONSTITUTION:A trap 2 for capturing fine particles contained in exhaust gas is disposed in an exhaust passage 1 of a diesel engine, and temperature sensors 12, 13 are disposed on the upstream side of the trap 2 while a temperature sensor 14 is disposed on the downstream side of the trap 2. Output signals of these temperature sensors 12, 13, 14 and a sensor 11 for detecting the pressure of exhaust gas are applied to an operation timing controlling means 10 together with signals representing the engine speed N and the flow rate Q of intake air. Further, a control unit 10 corrects the exhaust pressure detected by the sensor 11 on the basis of the temperature signal given from the exhaust temperature sensor 12 disposed on the upstream side of a burner 6 and determines the operation starting timing of the burner 6 for regenerating the burner 6 with high accuracy.</p> |
