The present invention relates to a method and to devices for homogeneous electromagnetic induction heating of flat, electrically conducting articles on the move. The invention consists in generating a doubly sinusoidal alternating induction magnetic field in space with a wavelength which is identical in two orthogonal directions x, z, the plane defined by these two directions coinciding with that of the article P, the latter moving in one of the two directions. The invention applies to the homogeneous induction heating of flat articles on the move. <IMAGE>
