PURPOSE:To produce sintered parts having excellent durability by subjecting a sintered body to a hardening treatment then to a surface treatment. CONSTITUTION:Material powder is pressed to form a power molded body, then the body is sintered to form a sintered body. The sintered body is subjected to a hardening treatment such as a gas soft nitriding treatment to form a nitride on the particle surface of the sintered body thereby imparting wear resistance to said body. An oxide is then formed in the holes of the sintered body by a steam treatment to provide tightness and the nitride on the particle surfaces is diffused in the particles to eliminate the embrittleness of the sintered body. The sintered body is finished by grinding to a prescribed shape and is then subjected to a low temp. sulfurizing treatment, PVD or electroless plating as a surface treatment to improve the durability of the sintered part. |
