Ball valve in which the rotary shutoff ball 2 is traversed on one side by a conduit 11 for balancing the pressures which opens into its channel 4 and is rotatably driven by a control rod 12 by virtue of a tenon 13-and-mortise 14 type link. The position of the driving link 13, 14 is laterally offset with respect to the rotational axis X-X of the ball 2 in relation to the position of the balancing conduit 11. Any error in positioning the conduit 11 can thus be avoided. Application to cryogenic valves. <IMAGE>
