PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding contact material having an increased softening temp. and improved welding resistance by adding small amounts of one or more among W, V and Ta and an Fe group metal to a Pt-Pd-Ag-Cu alloy having a specified composition. CONSTITUTION:This sliding contact material is obtd. by adding 0.5-10wt% one or more among W, V and Ta to an alloy material consisting of, by weight, 0.1- 1% Pt, 42-44% Pd, 39-41% Ag and 15.5-17.5% Cu without changing the ratio in the composition or by further adding 0.01-0.5wt% Fe group metal such as Ni. W, V and Ta prevent the softening of the sliding contact material and improve the welding resistance. The contact material has superior wear resistance and hardly generates noise, so a brush contact having stable and low contact resistance can be obtd. |
