In the process for degassing foaming liquids, in particular viscous liquids, and in the device for carrying out the process, the liquid is applied by means of vacuum to a rotating dish (4), spun out through lateral bores (6) in the wall (5) of the dish and flung as a falling film onto the side walls of the vessel (1) and completely degassed there by means of the vacuum. The degassed liquid is collected in the lower part of the vessel (1) and discharged through a gas lock (11). <IMAGE>
