Binders for road construction

The invention relates to the use of novel binders for the construction of traffic surfaces, in particular roads, with suitability for current modern road constructions. The aim of the invention is to save raw materials, such as coal and mineral oil, which are important from a national economy point of view and have hitherto been used in the preparation of the binder for the production of traffic surfaces. The technical object arising from this is achieved by a binder whose components were hitherto conveyed in large amounts to tips as waste products. These are extraction bitumen, preferably propane bitumen, which is mixed with a plasticiser, preferably a tar residue or alternatively process oil, in a predetermined amount.
