Plant for the biological purification of waste water having a tank essentially circular in plan view and an aeration bridge rotating about the centre of the plan view, which bridge is pulse-driven with the aid of a circulation unit having a motor, stirrer shaft and stirrer elements. The bridge carries a multiplicity of aeration pipes distributed over the length of the aeration bridge, which pipes act in the region of the base of the tank. The circulation unit is attached in front of the aeration bridge in the direction of rotation on the outer half of the aeration bridge. It is arranged with a stirrer shaft pointing downwards at an incline and also at an incline inwards to the aeration bridge. The aeration device is located behind the circulation unit in the direction of rotation and behind the aeration bridge.
