The up-and-over door can fold together above the door aperture when it is being raised. The door is equipped with two mutually opposite flexible walls (1, 2) and horizontal beams (3, 4) connecting the walls. One or more raising cords (6) for raising and lowering the door engage on the beam (4) at the lower edge of the door. In addition to the raising cords, there is provided a compensating cord (10, 11) which is guided via two or more deflecting rollers and which prevents the door from tilting as a result of the effect of external forces, such as, for example, gravity or friction. <IMAGE>
