The invention relates to a method for dividing up panel-shaped workpieces into different sizes, in which a panel end piece (head part) is first separated off by a separating cut from at least one workpiece panel and subsequently the panel end piece and panel main piece are divided up into different sizes by further separating cuts to be carried out in mutually perpendicular directions. In order to make it possible here to divide up both panel portions simultaneously on the same dividing-up installation with an offset cut, after separating off the head part, both panel portions are separated jointly in a perpendicular direction to the first separating cut. Thereafter, the panel portions are assigned to one another such that they lie one behind the other when seen in the direction of the first separating cut, after which the panel parts already formed from the head part and the strips formed from the other panel portions are displaced in the direction of a separating plane parallel to the first separating cut, and finally both panel portions which have already been divided up once are jointly separated along this separating plane.
