A continuously adjustable gear has a driven sheet-like bearing part (2), for example bearing cross, on which are mounted a radially adjustable plurality of rollers which run in a stationary band forming a semicircle of variable circumference and which transmit their rotational movement to an output shaft (32) via gearwheels (22). Such a gear is to be designed in such a way that, along with only a small constructional size, high forces can be transmitted by it, whilst the transmission factor is to be variable continuously between 0 and 1:1 and above. For this purpose, provision is made, according to the invention, for only one roller to be a gearwheel (22) and all the remaining rollers to be smooth-faced tension rollers (12, 13, 14), for the gearwheel (22) and the tension rollers (12, 13, 14) to rotate in two stationary roller chains (271/272, 281/282) which together form a closed circular track, and for the rotational movement of the gearwheel (22) to be transmitted via a worm (37) to an intermediate shaft (29) which is arranged radially in the bearing part and which is connected to the output shaft (32) of the centre of the bearing part (2). <IMAGE>
