The invention relates to a safety guard on a rocking circular saw, for protecting the saw blade against hard objects falling in, which at the same time would be thrown out dangerously. Similarly, without a safety guard the risk of injury to the worker is too great. The guard at the same time serves to catch dangerous wood splinters. The guard is produced from a 5 cm thick board. On the underside is a recess for the saw blade, and nailed directly behind, to the right and left, is a metal plate. The guard is screwed by 3 screws to the circular-saw frame by a strong flat-steel bar. If the saw is to be free from accidents, the following must be present: On the rocker to the right and left a handle. At the same time, one-man operation is possible in this case. The distance of the saw blade from the wood to be sawn is 5 cm. If wood greater than 30 cm is to be sawn, a bar is placed over the rocker and the guard is slightly raised. By knocking open, the latter can again be brought into any desired position. The movability of the commercially available safety guards constantly gives rise to accidents and shattered saw blades, which is completely eliminated with the new safety guard.
