In the case of the diffusor for hydraulic turbo engines of large dimensions, especially water turbines or pump turbines, the guide vanes comprise a thin vane body (5) with an attached framework (7) for reinforcement. This framework is composed of separate, flat elements (8, 9, 10), which are placed in the direction of the profile axis (S), that is in the direction of flow. A larger, free cross-section is thereby obtained for the flow, increasing the flexural and torsional rigidity and at the same time reducing the material outlay. <IMAGE>
