Reinforced hemstitch formed by a sewing machine

A single-thread chainstitch and a two-thread hemstitch which is made by a single needle are formed simultaneously, a part of the thread (T2) which forms the hemstitch being guided through a loop (1) to form the chainstitch, in order thereby to produce reinforced sewing stitches which come loose only with difficulty even when the thread (T1) of the chainstitch tears. The sewing stitch thereby acquires sufficient strength and stability and is suitable as a sewing stitch with a smaller number of sewing threads. <IMAGE>
