PURPOSE:To turn off an information system circuit when start from an upper device is not applied in a previously fixed time and to remove useless power consumption by separating a supervisory circuit from the information system circuit in case of mounting and providing the respective circuits with power supply circuits. CONSTITUTION:A start monitoring part 10 monitoring start outputted from the upper device and interruption from a lower device is mounted in a magnetic tape controlling device 1' by separating an information system circuit part 11 writing/reading data in/from the lower device. The monitoring part 10 is provided with a power supply on/off controlling circuit 14 and, a main power supply circuit 13 is conected to the circuit 14, electric power is supplied from the circuit 13 to the circuit part 11, and electric power is also supplied from an auxiliary power supply circuit 12 to the monitoring part 10. When starting is not applied from the upper device to the monitoring part 10 for a fixed period, the controlling circuit 14 commands power off to the circuit 13 to disconnect power supply to the information system circuit 11. Thus useless power consumption is removed and the energy saving of the system is automatically performed. |
