The arrangement relates to an arrangement for signal generation having a film made from piezoelectric material. The film is provided on at least one of its flat sides with electrically conductive regions which serve as electrodes. The electrically conductive regions are covered in each case at least partially by an elastomer, and a cavity is provided between the electrically conductive regions in each case. Such an arrangement is the subject matter of the older patent application P 3216618.2. In accordance with the present invention, an arrangement according to Claims 1, 2 and, in particular Claim 4 of the main patent application is used as a sensor element within the scope of the recording of physiological measured values for the purpose of detecting the mechanical components of vital functions of a living body, in particular the breathing, cardiac action and motoricity of a patient. <IMAGE>
