End profiling machine for elongate wooden profiles, having two chain transporters, the chains of which are provided with drivers, having a top pressure assigned to the chain transporters, having a drive device for the chains of the chain transporters and having motor-driven tools which are assigned laterally to the chain transporters. Seen in the conveying direction, upstream of the top pressure, there is arranged a draw-in transversely conveying apparatus which transfers the workpiece, into a first machining position, onto the chain transporter. A second transversely conveying apparatus is arranged in the interspace between the top pressure distributed over the width of the chain transporters, and the workpiece, which has been machined at one end, is moved transversely with respect to an adjustable stop into a second machine position for machining the other workpiece end, and there is provided a control apparatus for the cyclic advancement of the chains of the chain transporter such that the drivers come temporarily to a standstill in the region of the transversely conveying apparatuses. <IMAGE>
