In order, in a casting mould for uphill die-casting, which has a lower and an upper mould half consisting of moulding sand with at least one mould cavity, to prevent moulding sand from crumbling away during the sealing-off introduction of the melt in the gate region, there is pressed in, in the lower mould half (2), a tunnel (4) which is connected to the mould cavity (3) and the lower end of which has a sealing-off face (8) for radial sealing off. The tunnel (4) can consist of an outer tube (5) and of an inner tube (6). The sealing-off face (8) for radial sealing off is then formed in the lower end of the outer tube (5). <IMAGE>
