Inductive electronic proximity switch having an oscillator exhibiting a resonant circuit with a resonant-circuit coil, with a demodulator for rectifying the output voltage of the oscillator, with a flip-flop connected to the output of the demodulator and with compensation devices for compensating for the variation of the quality factor of the resonant-circuit coil with temperature, the compensation devices comprising a voltage-controlled damping element for the resonant circuit of the oscillator and a control voltage stage for generating a temperature-dependent control voltage for the damping element.
