Device for utilising the exhaust heat to quickly thaw frozen car windows. Said device is composed of a sleeve 4 which is guided directly on the exhaust manifold around the exhaust pipe 3 and has a larger diameter than the exhaust pipe, enclosing the latter over a certain length. The sleeve 4 has a branch 6 to which is connected a metal hose 7 which leads to the blower of the car. With the engine running and the blower switched on, hot air which forms in the sleeve 4 is sucked in via the hose line 7 and then, in the region of the windscreen, passes through the slots 10 provided onto the windscreen and into the car interior and very quickly makes the windows ice-free. When the blower is switched on, slides provided close the slots 9 for the fresh-air feed so that only hot air is sucked in via the hose line. <IMAGE>
