In order to transmit dial pulses over a line which is connected to a current source, provision is made of a circuit arrangement having a dial pulse generator (G) which controls via a control device (OK) a switching element (T) which is inserted in the line. In this case, the switching element effects a change in the current flowing through the line with each pulse transmitted by the dial pulse generator. Additionally inserted in the line is a sensor element (R1) which is connected to the control device (OK). The switching element (T) is fed a control signal regulating its forward resistance from the control device (OK) as a function of the voltage drop occurring across the sensor element (R1). <IMAGE>
