A bale thrower comprises a throwing arm 8 which extends into a bale channel 1 during its working stroke to engage and eject a bale 21 from the channel, and spring means 9 for effecting the working stroke under control of the binder needle drive, the arm 8 being connected by a cable 12 to the drive 3, 14 for the baling plunger 2, whereby operation of the plunger retracts the throwing arm in resetting it for a subsequent operation. The throwing arm 8 is carried on a crank-pin 6 which describes a path 6<SP>1</SP>. A pawl 15 for preventing movement of the thrower arm 8 is pulled out of the way by a rod 16 connected to the binder needle drive 17. |
