PURPOSE:To improve travel safety by switching to four wheel drive when deceleration is higher than setting level while releasing four wheel drive when stepping pedal or when a car released of brake stepping is brought into stopping state. CONSTITUTION:A manual exchange switch 36 is provided on a select lever 35 for an automatic speed change gear while an automatic exchange switch 38 is connected to the switch 36. Degree of deceleration is calculated in a control circuit 43 by means of a pulse signal from a car speed sensor 40 and if it is higher than setting level, output signal from control circuit 43 will cause turning on of the switch 38 to switch to four wheel drive. Thereafter upon turning on an accelerator 41 through stepping of accelerator pedal or upon turning off of brake switch 42 under the condition where car speed is zero and stepping of brake is released, a signal from the control circuit 43 will cause turning off of the switch 38 and return to two wheel drive. |
