PURPOSE:To facilitate the detection of an abnormality occurring in a control circuit of a remote control unit and a faulty place therein by a system wherein the remote control unit is set in the center of the control and data transmitted from indoor and outdoor units with checking items and data indicating the presence or absence of the abnormality included therein are processed and displayed in the remote control unit. CONSTITUTION:In an ordinary operation, a transmission output of a microcomputer 3 is sent to an indoor or outdoor unit through a transmission circuit 1b. In a remote control unit, a transmission signal sent therefrom is received through a reception circuit 1a and transmitted while the correctness of said signal is checked up. When the signal has any error, for instance, an error counter provided in the microcomputer 3 is incremented and the transmission is recommenced from the beginning. When a value in the error counter reaches a predetermined value, it is determined and memorized that a transmission-reception circuit is abnormal. On the other hand, the error counter is reset when a series of transmission is performed without any error. As to switches and volume units 4-7 for various settings, positions thereof are taken in for storage by the microcomputer 3 so that it can be monitored whether the transmission-reception circuit 1 of the remote control unit operates normally. |
